In Himachal Pradesh, 21 laborers returned to Jharkhand after an attack by locals

In Himachal Pradesh, the government has repatriated 31 Jharkhand workers allegedly attacked by locals and other workers are also returning home, the Jharkhand government said in a statement.

A statement issued by the government said that a group of 150 laborers from Khunti and surrounding districts of Jharkhand had gone to work in a hydropower project in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Some of the laborers complained that they were attacked by the locals which resulted in some laborers being injured.

The Jharkhand government has said that the process of repatriation of laborers from Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh is underway. So far, 21 workers have returned home. These people are residents of Khunti, Torpa, Badgaon area.

After the attack, all the workers appealed to make arrangements to return home. As soon as Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was informed of the incident, he directed the state authorities to make arrangements for the safe repatriation of the laborers.

The workers were able to return home safely after the intervention of the state government's labor department.
