I will issue the name and symbol of the new party after the approval of the Election Commission ઃ Amarinder

(PTI) Chandigarh, Ta. 3

Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has said that he will announce the new political party once the name and symbol are approved by the Election Commission. Singh, meanwhile, has claimed that many Congress leaders are in touch with him.

Addressing the first press conference after resigning as chief minister last month, Singh said he was forming a new party. However he declined to announce the name of this new party at present. He said he would announce the new name only after the Election Commission approves the name and symbol.

He, meanwhile, told a press conference that he would meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah tomorrow to resolve the farmers' issues. It may be mentioned that farmers have been protesting against the three agricultural laws of the central government for a long time.

In response to a question, Amarinder Singh said that many Congressmen are in touch with me and they will come forward at the right time.

It may be mentioned that Amarinder Singh had earlier said that he was ready to share seats with the BJP in the interest of the farmers.
