Following heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister had to postpone his election campaign for the Lok Sabha seat

New Delhi: While the rains in Kerala have claimed many lives, the situation is similar in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand received heavy to very heavy rains the next day on Monday. Three people were killed. Among those killed were three Nebula laborers. While the Chardham pilgrimage has been stopped for the time being and the pilgrims who have arrived for the darshan are being sent back in the middle.

Workers involved in the construction of a hotel here in Pauri district were crushed to death in the same tent where they were staying, leaving them dead.

Pilgrims arriving for the Chardham Yatra at Haridwar and Rishikesh here were warned not to proceed. The four-lane bridge here was closed and passengers were diverted. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the State Disaster Control Room.

Like Uttarakhand, Odisha also received heavy to very heavy rainfall. Following which the fishermen were advised not to go fishing in the sea. Alerts were also issued in coastal areas. Here is the Orange Alert. The two rivers here, Budhabalanga and Subarnarekha, crossed the dangerous surface.

Rains also lashed many parts of Madhya Pradesh, prompting Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to postpone the campaign for the Lok Sabha's Khandwa seat for the time being due to bad weather. The situation was brought under control on Monday, the day after heavy rains in Kerala caused floods in several districts and killed more than two dozen people.
