Heavy rains and cloudburst kill 26 in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: With the end of monsoon, on the other hand, Kerala is getting heavy to very heavy rains. As a result, many districts of the state have lost contact and thousands of people have lost contact due to the collapse of several bridges.

Landslide incidents have also come to the fore. Floods triggered by heavy rains in Kerala have killed 26 people so far. Rains have wreaked havoc in south and central Kerala. Rains in Kottayam and Idukki have broken years-old records. Cloudbursts have also been reported here.

Rains and floods have so far killed 13 people in Kerala's Kottayam district. While nine bodies have been found in Idukki district. Four people have been killed in the Alapur area.

A total of 26 people have lost their lives in the daytime rains in the state while many others are missing and out of touch. However, the administration is trying to contain the situation and large-scale rescue operations are being carried out to rescue those trapped.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijay has described the current state of affairs in the state as "very serious". While the meteorological department is still forecasting heavy rains. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Ernakulam districts are experiencing winds of 40 kmph and rains.

Meteorological officials said many of the rivers here have crossed dangerous levels. The Meenachal and Manimala rivers are prone to floods. The water level of these rivers has suddenly risen to more than 40 feet. Dams have crossed the surface in many districts. The help of the army is also being sought.

More than 15 people are missing in Kutikal and Kokkayar panchayats here. They are being searched with the help of helicopters. Helicopters are also not coming to work as the weather department is extremely bad. The rivers are overflowing, causing many bridges to be submerged. As a result, many villages have been submerged.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi got information about the situation by talking to the Chief Minister and also promised to help. It is raining not only in Kerala but also in other states. It is raining heavily in Delhi-NCR. Suddenly the weather changed and it started to rain. Darkness spread over the white day as if it were suddenly night.

Like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are also receiving heavy rains. Most of the educational institutes in Uttarakhand have been closed following heavy rains. All schools and colleges in Uttarakhand will be closed on Monday. The decision was taken as the meteorological department had forecast heavy rains here.

Chardham Yatra halted due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand

The pilgrimage to Chardham (Kedarnath Dham, Gangotri Dham, Yamanotri Dham and Badrinath Dham) in Uttarakhand has been temporarily halted. Those who have not started the journey have been told not to go on the journey now. This has to be done as a result of heavy rains in Uttarakhand. Heavy rain is forecast here till Monday. The devotees have seen God in Gangotri and Yamunotri. They have been told to go to a safe destination. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who has been touring Ayodhya for two days, has asked the concerned departments of the government to remain alert.
