Five-G will have to wait another year: Companies ask for more time for trial

New Delhi: Indian mobile subscribers will have to wait even longer for Five-G. Indian mobile customers have been waiting for a Five-G mobile for a year. Five-G is not expected to arrive until November next year. All the telecom companies have asked for more time for the trial of FiveG.

Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea have asked to extend the Five-G trial for another year. The request comes as the trial permits issued to telecom companies expire on November 8. Now, if the telecom department agrees, the auction of Five-G spectrum will take place in the second half of 2022 next year.

In May this year, the government gave spectrum to telecom companies for testing on 700 MHz band, 3.3-3.6 GHz band and 24.25-28.5 GHz band for different space. He was given six months.

All three telecom companies want the trial to be extended by one year. However, even after the arrival of Five-G service, nothing will be available to everyone immediately. It will take at least a year and a half to develop its infrastructure across the country.

Telecom has set a minimum price of Rs 50,000 crore for Five-G spectrum on the 3.3-3.6 GHz band. According to telecom companies, the prices are very high. Telecom companies believe that the government can reduce the price by considering their demand. Recently, telecom operators have conducted Five-G trials in many places. It has got a lot of fast five-G speed. Five-G smartphones are now available in the medium range in India. So now if we talk about companies, users have to wait even longer for Five-G.
