Farmers demand removal of Ajay Mishra from ministerial post

Trains will be stopped from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the movement will be peaceful

New Delhi: Four farmers and a journalist were killed when their car overturned in Lakhimpur Khiri in Uttar Pradesh. The name of Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, is coming up in this incident. The farmers will protest against the incident and also against the minister, demanding action today.

The United Kisan Morcha said in a statement that trains would be stopped from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. We demand that action be taken not only against Ashish Mishra but also against Union Minister Ajay Mishra involved in the incident. Ajay Mishra should be removed from the post of minister and he should be arrested.

The United Kisan Morcha has appealed that the Stop Rail movement should take place peacefully and no train or passengers should be harmed. The impact of the agitation can be seen in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana as well as Delhi.

Among the eight people killed in the Lakhimpur incident were four farmers, a journalist and three BJP workers. Farmers and a journalist were killed when their car was crushed, while three BJP workers were later found dead in the ensuing violence.
