Ban on fireworks is not against any particular community: Supreme Court

We are sitting to protect the rights of the citizens of the country

Violations of civil rights cannot be allowed under the guise of enjoyment

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday clarified that its ban on fireworks is not against any particular community but we cannot allow it to violate the rights of citizens in the name of pleasure.

The apex court also made it clear that it itself wanted its order to be complied with. A bench of Justices MR Shah and AS Bopanna said, "We want to make it clear that we are here to protect the rights of the citizens of the country."

The court also told the firecracker producers that you cannot play a game with the lives of citizens under the guise of fun, we are not in the slightest against any community or society,

But we want to make it clear that we are committed to protecting the rights of citizens. The earlier order banning the firing of fireworks was given in view of all the responsible causes and effects, the order was issued in the wider public interest,

Therefore, the order should not be judged in such a way that it is against a particular community. Selling.

The bench had issued show cause notices to six firecracker manufacturing companies saying that everyone knows how the people of Delhi are suffering due to air pollution. The bench, in turn, also asked why only the companies manufacturing fireworks should not be fined.

The apex court had refused to ban the full sale of fireworks, saying only licensed traders could sell fireworks, and only green fireworks could be sold. Not only that, but the Supreme Court had banned the online sale of fireworks.
