Attacks on Hindus continue in Bangladesh, extremists set 20 houses on fire

Attacks on Hindus during Durga Puja in Bangladesh are still ongoing.

Homes of Hindus in Rangpur district have now been torched on Sunday following attacks on Durga Puja pandals and temples in Bangladesh. According to a Bangladeshi newspaper, some extremists have set fire to 20 houses of Hindus, while locals say 65 houses have been set on fire.

According to police, a Hindu man was also accused in the case of making catastrophic comments on Facebook. The man was then provided security but the extremists set fire to nearby houses. The accused are affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami and its student body, the Islamic Student Camp.

Some videos related to it have also surfaced on social media. Crowds can be seen burning houses. However, the video did not prove to be of the same nature.

On the other hand many people have been arrested in the incidents of attack on Durga Puja pandals. Four people have been killed in firing on attacks on places of worship while two people have been killed in an attack on a Hindu temple in Noakhali.
