Attacks on Pakistan have been on the rise since the Taliban established governments across Afghanistan and as far as Kabul with lightning speed. According to data collected by the South Asia Terrorism Portal, the number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan has increased in just one month after the Taliban took over Afghanistan in the last three years. As a result, instability in South Asia is likely to increase and the attacks are likely to sting Islamabad as well.

According to the latest reports, there were eight terrorist attacks in Pakistan in August alone, killing eight people, the highest number since February 2014. Most of these attacks were carried out by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TIP). States the portal.

The real Tehreek-e-Pakistan (TIP) is increasingly encouraged by the ongoing activity in the neighborhood (Afghanistan).

The South Asian Terrorism Portal (SATP) is the largest website on terrorism and low intensity warfare in South Asia. It compiles a database of all terrorist activities in the area and also conducts research and analysis.

This Tehreek-e-Pakistan (TTP) is also known as 'Pakistani Taliban'. Its aim is to overthrow the government in Pakistan and the Islamabad-based government by launching a massive war-mongering operation. They have become stronger because of what happened in Afghanistan.

Omar Karim, a visiting fellow at the London-based Royal United Services Institute, told Bloomberg over the phone that terrorist groups were already gaining strength in Afghanistan.

Asfaniar Mir, a senior expert at the United States Institute of Peace, says Pakistan is not openly accepting but is concerned about the resurgence of the Pakistani Taliban, which is still being suppressed by the Pakistani military and UN drone strikes.
