Agra: An accused in a case of stealing Rs 2 lakh from a police station in Uttar Pradesh's Agra police station has died in police custody. There was great anger among the people after this death. Action has also been taken against the police personnel as they died during the police interrogation.

Agra SSP Muniraj GA said the incident took place at Jagdishpura police station. One sub-inspector and three constables posted here have been suspended while an inquiry into the whole incident has been ordered.

The accused Arun was working as a sanitation worker. He fell ill on Tuesday night, although his home was raided by police the same night. During which the stolen money was found.

However, he was later taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The police have registered an FIR without naming anyone. While the accused was satisfied by suspending the policemen. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, on the other hand, demanded drastic action in the matter. Also arrived to meet Arun's family. However they were intercepted in between. On the other hand, several people had gathered at Arun's house and demanded action against the accused.
