More than 10 injured in violence, many arrested in clashes over dominance

Dhaka: Clashes broke out between two groups of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. Six people were killed and at least 10 were injured. The clash took place in Cox's Bazar district of Bangladesh. One of the two was shot by a group.

Four people were killed on the spot in the firing. While two others died during treatment. However, it was not immediately clear why the violence broke out. A large number of arrests have been made in the case by the police. However, local media claim that both groups wanted to dominate the current relief camp in the illicit drug trade.

Earlier, the Bangladesh government had said that some Rohingya groups were involved in serious cases like kidnapping and ransom. They were using refugee camps to supply drugs from Myanmar. Where they lived before they arrived in Bangladesh. Several people have been arrested in the case and further inquiries are underway.
