21 WHO staff rape women and adolescents in Congo: Investigation reveals



In the Central African country of Congo, 21 World Health Organization (WHO) employees were found to have raped women and adolescents. This was followed by questions about the functioning of the World Health Organization. President Tedros Adhnom assured the victims that justice would be served after the union's employees were accused of rape.
In Congo, women were abused in hospitals fighting Ebola. Some women and adolescents were sexually exploited by offering them jobs. So she was raped by mixing drugs in the drinks of some health workers. Adolescents are also among the rape victims. Preliminary investigations revealed that 30-40 women were victims of sexual abuse.
A private investigation revealed that six people working in hospitals sexually abused and raped women and adolescents. Among them were 21 World Health Organization employees. Adolescents were mistreated under the pretext of getting jobs in hospitals.
Some of the rape victims are only 16-17 years old. Naradhamo also repeatedly raped these girls. Ebola has killed nearly two thousand people in the Congo. On the one hand, there was an operation to fight Ebola and on the other hand, only some doctors and health workers were sexually abusing local women working in hospitals.
Tedros Adhnom, president of the World Health Organization, expressed grief over the serious allegations of rape and assured that all victims would receive justice. The head of the WHO said that drastic action would be taken against the accused.
