150 pollution hotspots identified in Delhi: Gopal Rai

New Delhi: Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has said that the local government has identified 150 polluting sites in the national capital based on complaints received through the 'Green Delhi' application. The Green War Room was launched last year to monitor and coordinate anti-pollution efforts in the city, while the 'Green Delhi' application was launched to effectively address complaints about pollution activities.

Of the 77,000 complaints received on the app, more than 33,000 have been resolved, Rai said while launching the iOS version of the app. Most of the complaints are related to the Municipal Corporation Delhi Development Authority and the Public Works Department.

In the last one year, based on the complaints received on the app, 150 pollution hotspots in Delhi have been identified. These places will be closely monitored and steps will be taken to eradicate the vices with the help of concerned departments and officials, added Gopal Rai. More hotspots are likely to be found based on an ongoing analysis of complaints, an official said.
