What will be India's policy on Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover?

- S. Jaishankar speaks openly to me

- India has been contributing to that country for the last 20 years. The Afghan people love India

Right now, Pakistan and China are dominating Taliban-held Afghanistan, and India knows it seems to have been pushed out of the country. But the fact is not quite that. On India's policy towards Afghanistan, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has openly told me that we have historical ties with the Afghan people. That relationship will continue and that vision will guide our relationship with Afghanistan. Political science experts are interpreting these statements multiple times.

Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations T.S. "We are concerned about the people of Afghanistan as well as our immediate neighbors," Tirumurthy said during a meeting of the Security Council on Afghanistan.

It is very clear that India views both the Afghan people and the Taliban differently. It is also true that the world knows that the Taliban came to power at gunpoint and does not represent the Taliban or the Afghan people. They don't even care about Pashtuns. Even if Pashtuns are in the majority than other communities in Afghanistan.

It is well known that leaders like former President Hamid Karzai and former Vice President Ashraf Ghani have come from the Pashtun community.

India has been investing in Afghanistan for the last 20 years. The people there know that Indian engineers are contributing to their innovation. India has built a new parliament building there, rebuilding a number of hospitals. Some have also carried out repair work in schools. Has also completed the 'Salma-Dam-Power Generation' project. India has built 315 km Jaranj-Delaram highway. Assisted for transmission lines, as well as public transport airlines. Banks are established.

Many Indian politicians, doctors, engineers and security personnel have been killed in these 40 years. The Afghan people know all this.

Referring to this, Jaishankar said that it is not just India's investment but a relationship. Which binds both. In that sense, our policy with the country is being formulated.
