Unidentified fighter jets strike Taliban in Panjshir province?

New Delhi, dated 7 September 2021, Tuesday

Reports of airstrikes on the Taliban last night have been circulating on social media amid claims that the Taliban have taken control of Afghanistan's Panjshir province.

The reports claim that the Taliban have suffered heavy losses due to the airstrikes, but the question is, who carried out the airstrikes? Unidentified fighter jets have carried out air strikes on the Taliban in Panjshir, according to Afghan media and journalists. The planes attacked the Taliban and fled, leaving areas controlled by the Resistance Force. Who carried out these attacks, Russia or Tajikistan?

Tajikistan is at the forefront of journalists' speculation as to who has given a scathing response to the Taliban. This is because Northern Alliance chief Ahmed Massoud is currently claimed to be in Tajikistan. Some troops and fighter jets landed in Tajikistan when the Taliban occupied Afghanistan.

Tajikistan has periodically sided with the Northern Alliance and anti-Taliban groups. Which is why his name is coming up behind the unidentified air strikes.

Other countries in question include Russia and Iran. Iran recently opposed Pakistan's attack on the Northern Alliance, calling Pakistan's action an interference in other countries' affairs. However this type of claim is also weak. Because Iran and Russia have been invited by the Taliban to attend the government formation program.

However, if Russia supports the Northern Alliance, it will not be annoying. Russia has criticized the way the United States has handed over power to the Taliban.
