Anyone can understand why earthquakes happen. This is because the earth is mainly made up of four layers. Inner Core, Outer Core, Mattle and Crust. The crust and the metal above are called lithospheres. This 30 km long layer is divided into large areas. These are called tectonic plates. These plates move in their place, they move more when an earthquake occurs. This plate rotates extremely slowly. It moves four to five mm from its position every year. They also often collide with each other.
