The NIA will investigate the case of a Chinese ship that reached Gujarat last year


The ship had reached Karachi carrying suspicious material

Following the order of the Union Home Ministry, the NIA filed a case on September 17

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case in connection with a Chinese ship that arrived at Gujarat's Kandla port last year. The suspicious devices on the ship were brought from Karachi, Pakistan. Which will be used in industries and in the manufacture of ballistic missiles.

According to official sources, the NIA had filed the case on September 17 on the orders of the Union Home Ministry. Indian customs officials seized the Chinese merchant ship Da Cui Yun at Kandla port for carrying suspicious devices and concealing information.

The ship arrived at Kandla port on February 3 last year. The ship was able to reach Qasim Port in Karachi by mid-February 4-5. However the ship with the Hong Kong flag was captured. Suspicious devices were also seized from the ship. The DRDO, along with the intelligence agencies, investigated the devices. The ship left Jiangxi Port on January 17, 2020.
