President Ramnath Kovinde approved the appointment of governors of Punjab, Uttarakhand and Nagaland. While Nagaland Governor RN Raveen was made the Governor of Tamil Nadu.
At the same time, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (retd) has been given the charge of the post of Governor of Uttarakhand. Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi has been given additional charge of Nagaland Governor. The post of Governor of Uttarakhand fell vacant following the resignation of Baby Rani Maurya. Uttarakhand has been handed over to Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh, who specializes in China affairs.
