President Ramnath Kovinde approved the appointment of governors of Punjab, Uttarakhand and Nagaland. According to information released by Rashtrapati Bhavan, Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has been made the Governor of Punjab. While Nagaland Governor RN Raveen was made the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

At the same time, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (retd) has been given the charge of the post of Governor of Uttarakhand. Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi has been given additional charge of Nagaland Governor. The post of Governor of Uttarakhand fell vacant following the resignation of Baby Rani Maurya.
