Pak terrorists suspected to have infiltrated Kashmir from Afghanistan

Geneva, Ta. 3

Following the Taliban's occupation of Afghanistan, concerns have been raised in all countries that Taliban militants should not use Afghan soil to spread terrorism to other countries. On the other hand, reports that Pakistan-backed jihadi militants have entered Kashmir via Afghanistan have raised concerns, according to a report by the European Foundation for South Asian Studies.

The foundation fears that Pakistan-backed and trained jihadi militants will be sent to Kashmir after the Taliban take over Afghanistan. At the 7th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Junaid Qureshi, director of the organization and of Kashmiri origin, drew the conference's attention to the dire situation in Afghanistan and its implications for Jammu.

Junaid Qureshi said that when the Soviet Union left Kabul in the 19th century, many Islamic militants had to flee to other countries and many were sent to Kashmir. Six years later, Afghanistan has been taken over by the Taliban. So many people have become unemployed. Junaid said the jihadi militants, trained by Pakistan's ISI, were sent to Kashmir in the 1990s. Now they are back to annoy us.
