Nitish Kumar in the mood to fight the Center on the issue of caste-based census

The central government has categorically refused by filing an affidavit in the Supreme Court

Nitish prepares to plan for the future by convening an all-party meeting in Bihar in the coming days to put pressure on the government

New Delhi: Janata Dal (U) supremo and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a key ally of the Center on the issue of caste-based census, is not ready to back down at all.

Not only that but on this issue he seems to be in the mood to fight with the central government. It may be recalled that the Central Government was not in favor of conducting a caste-based census and had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court assuring that it would not conduct a caste-based census in the country.

The Bihar Chief Minister, outraged by the Centre's stance, also indirectly threatened that he would hold talks with all parties in the state on the issue and convene an all-party meeting to reach a consensus. Thus, Nitish Kumar's tough stance caused a stir in Bihar politics.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been advocating for a caste-based population from the outset, and that is why he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 23 with a 10-member all-party delegation comprising representatives of all parties in the state.

And gave the application form and demanded to conduct caste based population. During the visit, Nitish Kumar mentioned several benefits of conducting a caste-based census. Nitish Kumar reacted to the issue of caste-based census and said that such a demand was not unique to Bihar.

He will hold talks with all parties in Bihar on the issue and work out a plan for the future. Speaking to reporters here on the issue, the Bihar Chief Minister said that the demand for a caste-based census was not only justified but it was an urgent demand of the day. This demand is conducive to growth.
