People coming out of a mosque and mausoleum in Mandi village in Ben Prakhand, Nalanda, Bihar, may think that the village has a large Muslim population, but surprisingly, even though there is no Muslim family in Mandi village for the last 20 years, prayers are offered five times a day. Care is also taken to keep the mosque clean. As Eid approaches, the place of worship is painted. At one time the village was inhabited by Muslims but one by one the family started going out for roti and the mosque remained in the village. The people of the village did not neglect this place even in the absence of Muslims. It is not known when the mosque was built but it is believed to be 100 to 150 years old.

There is a shrine near the mosque where sheets are laid. Prayers are sought for happiness, peace and prosperity. In Hinduism, it is customary to send invitation leaflets to some religious places when there is a wedding. In the same way, Kankotari is also sent to this shrine. Madi village is developed as compared to other villages in Bihar. The village has good roads, electricity, water and toilet facilities. The faith of the Hindus living in the village is connected with this religious place so they do not consider any difference in a temple or a mosque. Thus Hindus are unaware of Ajaan and its religious rites but the cassette was played when there was no pendrive before it is played by recording by pen drive. It has become a tradition that people do not want to break it.
