Ford will stop selling EcoSport cars in the United States

Not selling as expected

The car that gets more customers in India will continue to sell in the US until mid-2022

Washington: American automobile company Ford will stop manufacturing and selling ecosport cars in the US market. The decision was made by Ford due to the steady decline in demand for the model since its launch in the US in 2016. However, sales will continue until mid-2022.

It may be mentioned that this model may have failed in the US but the car has sold heavily in India. According to a report published in the Detroit Free Press, Ford will stop manufacturing and selling EcoSport cars in the United States, although the model will still be available in the US market for a year.

The decision was taken due to the company not selling as expected and the steady decline in demand. The best-selling car in the Indian market has been available since 2013 and the model was launched in the US in 2016 and launched in the general market in 2018, but has not had much success in the US market.

It may be mentioned that the new model of EcoSport, EcoSport Facelift, was to be launched in India in 2021, but this will not be the case now due to the closure of the plant in India by Ford. Ford will now continue to sell imported models like the Mustang in India.
