(PTI) New delhi date. 13

The Supreme Court has said that an employee cannot insist on transfer to a particular place and it is in the hands of the company to transfer to any place and it can transfer the employee as per its requirement.

The apex court had rejected the lecturer's plea challenging the 2014 Allahabad High Court judgment. The woman lecturer demanded transfer from Amroha to Gautam Buddha Nagar.

It may be mentioned that in 2012, the Allahabad High Court had rejected the application of a woman lecturer. A bench comprising Justice MR Shah and Justice Aniruddha Bose said in its judgment that the employee could not insist on transfer to a particular place. The company can transfer the employee as per its requirement.

The Allahabad High Court in its judgment said that Gautam Lecturer was a lecturer in a college in Gautam Buddha Nagar for 14 years from her appointment in December, 2000 to August, 2017. Now it's not right that he wants to go there again.

The High Court, in its order, said that it was not appropriate to insist on being sent back to the same place after 15 years of service in the same place.
