Eight girls drowned in a lake during Karmapuja celebrations in Jharkhand


All the girls drowned trying to save each other: the festival turned into mourning

Latehar: Eight girls drowned in a lake during a Karma Puja festival in a village in Jharkhand's Latehar district. They were 12 to 20 years old.

After the Karma Puja, a big festival in Jharkhand in Bukru village of Latedar district, the girls went to the lake to dispose of the worship material including the branches of the Karam tree. The Deputy Development Commissioner of the district has been assigned to investigate the accident. All the girls drowned in the lake going to save each other. Following the tragedy, the festivities turned to mourning.

The cries of the relatives of the dead girls could be heard far and wide. A group of 10 girls went to the lake to disperse Karamdali, in whose water two girls started drowning and they shouted for help. All the girls who went down to the lake to save him drowned in the deep water.
