Deshmukh money laundering case: CBI officer arrested

Mumbai: A CBI team has arrested one of its own officials and Deshmukh's lawyer for trying to mislead the probe by leaking a report on a money laundering case against former state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Which has caused a sensation.

An attempt was also made to bribe in the case. The CBI had last night arrested and questioned Deshmukh's son-in-law Gaurav Chaturvedi. He was then released.

CBI sub-inspector Abhishek Tiwari and Deshmukh's lawyer Anand Danga have been arrested and further investigations are underway. A CBI team had taken Danga to Delhi.

Deshmukh's legal team is said to have tried to bribe some CBI officials. A preliminary report by the CBI investigating allegations of corruption against Deshmukh was circulating on social media. Thus an attempt was made to mislead the investigation.

Strict action will be taken against the CBI officer involved in the case. Someone else, on the other hand, is involved in the crime. Whether this is being investigated. The CBI has registered a case against its sub-inspector, Nagpur lawyer and some unidentified accused. The CBI has conducted search operations at some places in Allahabad and Delhi.

Meanwhile, Deshmukh's son-in-law Gaurav Chaturvedi was taken into custody for questioning yesterday but Deshmukh's family alleged that Chaturvedi had been abducted. This was reported to the police. However, the CBI team released Chaturvedi after questioning.
