Posting on Facebook, US President wishes Jains a happy Paryushana

WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden has congratulated the entire Jain community in the United States and around the world on the recent Feast of Tabernacles. The United States is home to an estimated 1.50 lakh Jains, the largest number of Jains living outside India.

The Feast of Tabernacles is followed by a ten-day Feast of the Ten Features which the President of the United States of America took note of and greeted the Jains. Posted on Sunday above.

Biden wrote in his post that he prays for happiness and peace for all of us in the current times of introspection and forgiveness, sweetness and excellent forgiveness.

Today, for the first time in American history, the Jain festival and the Jain community have been noted and greeted by any authoritative president, said Vaibhav Jain, who played a key role in Biden's election campaign.

Acharya Lokesh Muni also issued a statement welcoming Biden's congratulatory message. Meanwhile, Mahesh Vadher, President, Jain Association of North America, also said, "We thank the President of the United States for sending a congratulatory message on the occasion of the holy festival of Purushan."
