UP: Tricolor unfurled in Jama Masjid, slogans chanted by Bharat Mata Ki Jaya, Mufti says, this is haraam

Controversy is growing over BJP leader and Minority Commission chairman Ashfaq Saifi's unfurling of the tricolor at Agra's Shahi Jama Masjid. An alleged audio of the city mufti going viral, in which he has protested against singing the national anthem inside the mosque. Ashfaq Saifi has termed the Mufti's statement as irresponsible.

Ashfaq Saifi, chairman of the Minority Commission, hoisted the tricolor at the Shahi Jama Masjid on the occasion of Independence Day. After which the national anthem was sung and Bharat Mata Jaya was chanted. An audio is going viral inside the Jama Masjid after waving the tricolor and singing the national anthem. It is being claimed that this audio city belongs to Mufti Majdul Khubaib Rumi.


In a viral audio, city mufti Majdul Khubaib Rumi told Aslam Qureshi, chairman of Masjid Itzamia, that people were singing inside the mosque, which is haraam, and not to invite Allah.

Meanwhile, Haji Aslam Qureshi, chairman of the Shahi Jama Masjid, said the city mufti had objected to the hoisting of tricolors at the mosque's madrassas, which was wrong.

In this case, the chairman of the Hindustani community, Dr. Siraj Qureshi said that there is a tendency among Muslims that the flag cannot be hoisted inside the mosque.

Ashfaq Saifi, chairman of the UP Minority Commission, said that the opposition of the city mufti to unfurl the tricolor was wrong.
