This year, the US issued student visas to 55,000 Indian students

The craze of Indians to study higher in various American universities increased

Consulate offices begin interviews in May for semesters starting in September, but this year the corona has been delayed by two months.

New Delhi: The United States (US) Mission India, working in India, on Monday announced that its embassy and consulate offices have so far issued student visas to 55,000 Indian students for the fall semester starting September in the year 2021. Is the largest figure.

"Despite the spread of the Kovid epidemic around the world, we have issued visas to such a large number of Indian students," an official press release issued by the mission said.

Through the efforts of our embassy and consulate offices, we have so far issued student visas to 55000 students from India and students wishing to come to the US under the exchange program and still continue to issue visas to more and more students every day.

Given the craze for Indian students to study in the United States, the US Mission expects a large number of Indian students to apply for visas starting in the winter, or for the semester beginning on January 1.

U.S. embassies and consulates usually start interviews for the fall semester in May, but this year the Kovid epidemic posed a major challenge for the consulate team. The second wave of corona forced these offices to postpone their interviews for two months.

But as Corona's outburst slowed in July and office staff and incoming visitors and students' health risks diminished, they began the process of interviewing, and staff at all offices quickly expedited the process, which led to the disposal of earlier applications. Said in a press release.

In addition, these offices have extended working hours to ensure that Indian students reach their colleges or universities on time and start their studies in the semester starting from September, and special care has been taken to ensure that all eligible students get student visas.
