The withdrawal of all troops, the end of the US military campaign in Afghanistan after 20 years

New Delhi, 31st August 2021, Tuesday

All US troops have finally withdrawn from Afghanistan, marking the end of a 20-year US military operation in the country.

In 17 days, US troops have evacuated 1.20 million American civilians, allies and their families from Afghanistan, the largest airlift mission in history, President Joe Biden said. I have asked the External Affairs Minister to stay in coordination with our international partners. So that a safe way out can be determined for Americans, Afghans as well as other foreign nationals.

"Tomorrow afternoon I will address the people on why the US presence in Afghanistan should not be further enhanced," Biden said. The United States will be in contact with its allies to reopen Kabul airport to allow those who want to leave Afghanistan to leave.

The United States says there are now only 200 Americans living in Afghanistan. The United States will continue its efforts to expel those who want to leave Afghanistan. With this, instead of Afghanistan, the US has started its diplomatic mission from Qatar.
