Monsoon trough slides in Himalayan range: No rain in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi

New Delhi: The meteorological department has said that dry spells are likely to resume in most parts of India, including Maharashtra and Gujarat. The dry spell is expected to last for a week from Monday, August 23rd.

RK Jenamani, a senior meteorologist at the Meteorological Department in New Delhi, told Gujarat Samachar that the current monsoon trough has moved into the Himalayan range. Due to the widespread impact of such changes in natural factors, the rainy weather is likely to remain in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, etc.

Rains are also expected in Andhra Pradesh during August 29 and 30. The weather in northwest and western India is likely to remain dry for about a week. This means that the skies of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, including Maharashtra and Gujarat, are likely to remain blank.

However, the rainy weather in India will be forecast later in September after August. RK Jenamani also said that this would be the third dry spell during the monsoon of 2021. Earlier, during the first two weeks of June 29, June 11, July and August, the monsoon conditions in most of the states of India had slowed down.

However, Gujarat, including Mumbai and Maharashtra, received rains again from August 19. However, dry spell is likely to resume in northwestern and western states of India for a week from August 24. Such a dry spell will result in 26.6 per cent less rainfall across the country during August.
