The Sensex reached a record high of 55488 and the Nifty reached a record high of 16543


The BSE Sensex touched 55,000 for the first time today and the Nifty touched 16,500 for the first time at 55,488 and 16,543, respectively, on the back of a new take on the economy amid reports that inflation is likely to pick up in the midst of the Corona's third wave.

Following the rise in the Sensex, investors' wealth has risen by Rs. 1.40 lakh crore. The BSE benchmark Sensex rose intraday to an all-time high of 55487.79 and closed at a record high of 55437.29 after hitting an all-time high of 55487.79.

The new entrant has started operations at NSE after a firm tone. The Nifty bounced intraday and touched an all-time high of 16543.60, after which it bounced 164.70 points to close at 16529.10. Following the rise in the Sensex, investors' wealth rose by Rs. 1.40 lakh crore to Rs. 240.23 lakh crore.
