The need to make the country's police officers more sensitive: Chief Justice

New Delhi: Incidents of atrocities on the accused in custody are coming up. Some of them have also died. In it, Chief Justice NV Ramanna said the accused was still being tortured in custody. The country's police officers need to be sensitive in this matter. The Chief Justice said that the gap between citizens and justice still needs to be bridged.

For a very long time a certain weak class in the country is still out of the justice system. If the judiciary as an institution wants to win the trust of the citizens, we must each convince them that we are here for you. He also spoke about the attitude of the police towards the accused in the country.

He said that atrocities in custody and other atrocities committed by the police were still going on in the country. Privileged people are also being subjected to third degree torture which is not appropriate. To change this situation, the country's police officers need to be more sensitive and prevent atrocities in custody.
