New Delhi: The central government may end fuel subsidy next year. At one time, the Congress-led UPA government spent Rs 1.5 lakh crore on fuel subsidies. In the financial year 2020-21, this share in the Narendra Modi-led NDA government has come down to Rs 12.51 crore.

After the government deregulated diesel prices, the under-recovery has halved to Rs 2,50 crore in 2015-16, Rs 4,400 crore in 2016-17, Rs 2,6 crore in 2016-17, Rs 4,915 crore in 2015-16 and Rs 5,912 crore in 2015-16. 8,31 crore.
