- New fatwa not to enter market without husband, father or brother: UN committee expresses concern

Kabul: The condition of women in Afghanistan is deteriorating day by day. Taliban militants have issued new harassment orders for women in areas they have seized.

The Taliban has issued a new fatwa in the area under its control. Accordingly, no woman will be able to wear sandals that show her feet. Media reports claimed that a woman wearing sandals with visible feet in the Taliban area was beaten in public. Not only that, now no woman can go out alone in the area under Taliban control. Strict action has been ordered against a woman who enters the market without a husband, brother, father or son.

The UN Human Rights Commission expressed concern over reports of the Taliban's inhumane treatment. The UN said the situation of women in Afghanistan was deteriorating day by day. The U.N. called the threat to women's freedom a serious matter.
