Rajasthan: BJP MP in police custody, flag hoisted at Amagadh fort despite ban

In Jaipur, Rajasthan, BJP MP Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena has hoisted the flag at Amagarh fort despite the ban. They wanted to worship at Amagadh fort but the police had already banned them from going there as a precaution. The case of flag hoisting at Amagadh fort is hot. Congress MLA Ramkesh Meena first allegedly tore down the saffron flag at Amagarh Fort and then Kirodi Lal Meena hoisted the Meena Samaj flag at Amagarh Fort. He waved the flag there before the police could stop Kirodi Lal Meena.

Police have taken him into custody following the incident. He has been arrested as claimed by a BJP MP. He tweeted and shared a video of the incident waving flags and wrote, "I have been arrested from Amagarh Fort."

In Rajasthan, a section of Meenas is fighting Hindu organizations, including the RSS, claiming that Meenas have a distinct identity and are not Hindus. The controversy erupted after Meena community leader and MLA Ramkesh Meena allegedly tore down a saffron flag at Amagarh Fort a few days back.

Considering the seriousness of the incident, the police issued an order asking the people not to visit Amagadh fort. However, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena managed to reach the fort by evading the police and hoisted the flag at the fort before the police took him into custody as part of the vigil.
