In India, petrol and diesel prices have gone up by Rs. Preliminary sales figures from state-owned oil companies show that demand for petrol-diesel has reached earlier levels in most of the states as corona epidemic lockdowns and controls eased in most states. State-owned oil companies had sold 4.5 lakh tonnes of petrol and 2.50 lakh tonnes of diesel in July. Sales of petrol and diesel were up 2.8 per cent and 12.5 per cent, respectively, from the previous level. Meanwhile, there has been no change in petrol and diesel prices in the country in a fortnight.

According to preliminary data released by state-run retail oil companies on Sunday, petrol sales in the country in July 2012 were 12 per cent higher than in July 2020, when they were 7.5 lakh tonnes. Similarly, diesel sales increased by 14.5 per cent in July 2021 as compared to July 2030, but diesel sales declined by 10.8 per cent as compared to July 2017. Petrol-diesel sales rose for the second consecutive month after March.

Fuel demand reached near normal levels in March before the second wave of the Corona epidemic began, but the second wave caused public and private transport to decline and economic activity to stall as several states imposed restrictions, including lockdowns. As a result, petrol-diesel consumption was the lowest in May since August last year. Fuel demand picked up again in June, with declining lockdowns and restrictions being lifted in the Corona case.

The chairman of IOC, India's largest retail oil company, S. like this. The doctor said on July 20 that due to the Corona epidemic, the consumption of petrol had increased more than the previous level of Corona due to the increase in personal transport rather than public transport. He said diesel sales were likely to return to previous levels during the Diwali festivities in November. However, he added that sales in November are likely to rise to the previous level of Corona if the third wave of Corona does not come and restrictions including lockdown are not observed.

Cooking gas, meanwhile, is the only fuel whose consumption has increased since the time of the nationwide lockdown before the Corona epidemic. The main reason for this was the provision of free LPG to the poor by the government. In July 2017, its sales were up 2.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices in the country have not changed in the last fortnight. However, in July, petrol prices were around Rs. An increase of 2.09. In Delhi, the price of petrol was Rs 7.5 per liter in April 2020, which has gone up to Rs. 4.5 crore to Rs. 101.5. At the same time, the price of diesel has gone up by Rs. 2.5 to Rs. 4.5 per liter to Rs. 3.2.

However, petrol and diesel prices have not changed in the last fortnight. Globally, crude oil prices have fallen by as much as 10 per cent, with the benchmark crude falling to ૬૯ 6 a barrel from ૭૭ 4 a few weeks ago. However, strong demand estimates are expected to push crude oil beyond ૭૫ 6 a barrel.
