Now mountain breaks in Lahaul, Himachal: Chandra Bhaga river stops flowing, order to evacuate nearby villages

Himachal Pradesh is witnessing heavy rains. A landslide occurred near Nigulseri on National Highway-5 in Kinnaur on Thursday, with relief work still underway. Now the mountain in Lahaul has been shaken by the incident. Due to which the flow of the river has been stopped. Surrounding villages are at risk.

People have been urged to evacuate the surrounding villages and move to safer places. The flow of Chandrabhaga river has been stopped due to the collapse of Nalda hill in front of Junda canal of Lahaul. With village land, the risk to the village has increased. The whole river has turned into a dam. A terrible situation has arisen at the scene.

Rescue teams pulled the bodies of four more people from the rubble on Thursday, the second day of a catastrophic landslide following a landslide near Nigulsari on National Highway-5 in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district. The death toll has risen to 14. About 20 hours after the incident, some pieces and tires of the Himachal Path Transport Corporation bus were also found.

However, 16 of the passengers aboard the bus are still missing. More than 40 people were feared missing on the day of the incident. The injured and dead in the landslide-hit tippers, cars, sumo and other vehicles have been evacuated. Now the bus passenger is missing. As time goes on, the hopes of the relatives of the missing are diminishing. The screams of relatives are being heard at the scene. The condition of the bodies is so bad that it is proving difficult to identify.

The state government will provide Rs 5 lakh each to the dependents of the victims of the Nigulsari incident in Kinnor and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. The injured will be treated free of cost. Returning from Nigulsari on Thursday evening, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur gave this information in the Assembly House.
