New Jallianwala Bagh complex to be dedicated to nation on August 28, PM Modi to inaugurate

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the renovated premises of Jallianwala Bagh Smarak to the nation on August 28. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the museum gallery at the memorial. Prime Minister Modi will dedicate Jallianwala Bagh to the nation on August 28 at 6:25 pm through video conferencing. Efforts made by the government to make the campus better will also be highlighted during the planning.

The building had been vacant for a long time and was being used sparingly. Due to this 4 museum galleries have been constructed to reuse the buildings. These galleries show the special historical significance of various events that took place in Punjab during that time. It will be presented by audio-visual technology to show events that include mapping and 3D illustration as well as art and sculpture.

A sound and light show has also been arranged to show the various events that took place on April 13, 1919. A number of development initiatives have been taken in this area. Extensive heritage reconstruction work has been done in line with the local style of Punjab. The Shahidi well has been repaired and reconstructed with newly developed excellent structure.

The 'Jwala Smarak', the central site of the garden, has been repaired as well as reconstructed. The lake has been redeveloped as 'Lily Lake' and roads have been widened for the convenience of the people. At the same time all the important places have been highlighted by the lights. Apart from that, better landscaping and rocky construction work along with native plantations, installation of audio nodes throughout the garden is also underway. In addition, many new areas have been developed to accommodate the Moksha Sthal, the Immortal Flame and the Flag Mast.

Union Minister of Culture, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Minister of State for Culture, Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab, Chief Ministers of Haryana, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, all Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs of Punjab, members of Jallianwala Bagh National Monument Trust etc. will be present on the occasion.
