Kalyan Singh's name will be associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi Marg

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has announced to link a road to the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya with the name of former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh.

A road leading to Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya will be named after Kalyan Singh. In addition, one road in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Bulandshahr and Aligarh will also be associated with the name of late Kalyan Singh.

Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and former Governor of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh Kalyan Singh has died in Lucknow on August 31 after a long illness. Singh, a two-time Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, was admitted to SGPGI Hospital on July 7. A three-day mourning period has been declared in his honor in the state.

His body was laid to rest at his residence in Lucknow on Sunday. The body was then kept at the Vidhan Sabha building and BJP office, where fans paid their last respects. His last rites will be performed today at his ancestral village of Atrauli in Aligarh.

He had earlier said in a speech that his life was dedicated to the BJP. Respecting his last wish, the BJP flag was wrapped around his body.
