Kalyan Singh merged into Panchatatva: Son gave a facelift

60 kg ghee, 20 kg sandalwood, 50 kg saffron camphor were used for the funeral

Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on Monday merged with the Panchayat. His last rites were performed at Naraura Ghat in Bulandshahr with political honors. His son Rajveer gave a facelift. Leaders including Yogi Adityanath, Amit Shah, Rajnath were present at the funeral.

Other leaders who were present included Union Minister Smriti Irani, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Yogi Adityanath, Amit Shah and others. Amit Shah said that Kalyan Singh's departure was causing huge losses to the BJP. The BJP has lost a veteran and always struggling leader.

Amit Shah said that Kalyan Singh had relinquished his power for the Ram Janmabhoomi movement without much thought. The poor, the disadvantaged have lost their well-wishers. Priest Chand Pal Arya at Naraura Ghat said that 21 Pandits performed Kalyan Singh's funeral with Vedic rites.

Babri was overthrown when Kalyan Singh was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, after which he resigned, though he later became the Chief Minister again. His funeral was completed with 20 kg of sandalwood, 5 quintals of mango wood, 50 kg of saffron camphor and other medicinal ingredients as well as 60 kg of ghee.
