New Delhi, 31st August 2021, Tuesday

India has also ended its rescue mission in Afghanistan after thousands of Indians as well as Hindu and Sikh nationals were repatriated from Afghanistan.

All aircraft and crew involved in the operation have been recalled. An English news channel quoted Indian officials as saying that Indian Air Force C-17 and C-130 aircraft used for the rescue had returned to their bases.

India had deployed some of its aircraft at an airbase in Tajikistan. These planes were used to bring people from Afghanistan back to India.

Air India planes were also used for the rescue mission as well.

The Indian government, meanwhile, was in touch with various countries, such as the United States and Tajikistan. In a very tense situation, India undertook a mission to bring back thousands of people from Afghanistan.
