LPG cylinder prices have doubled in the last seven years. According to Congress spokesperson Supriya Srinath, the central government has hiked the price of LPG cylinders by Rs 2 since November 2020. Which represents an increase of 3%.

The Congress spokesperson further said that the government has not paid any subsidy on LPG cylinders since May 2020. The fuel subsidy was Rs 1.5 lakh crore in 2015, which has been reduced to Rs 15,000 crore in 2021.
