BSE market cap rises to record high of Rs 242.08 lakh crore

AHMEDABAD: The Sensex today touched a high of 56,000 for the first time in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on fresh demand led by funds. In the last five trading sessions, investors' wealth has risen by Rs. 5.33 lakh crore.

The market's morale improved on the back of a slowdown in transition and a significant increase in business activity and retail sales as the economy grew. Behind these reports, the fund-led newcomer from Chomer set another record today.

The Sensex started today at the Bombay Stock Exchange with a jump of 56,000 and touched an all-time high of 56118.57 intraday. However, it later lost a high on bearish selling pressure, falling 162.78 points to soften at 55629.49.

At the NSE, the Nifty rose intra-day to a new all-time high of 16,710.85 after a strong start to the day.

Investors' wealth (BSE market cap) rose to Rs. Reached a record high of Rs 242.08 lakh crore. However, at the end of the day, it was Rs. 240.86 lakh crore. In the last five days, investors' wealth has risen by Rs. 5.33 lakh crore.
