Terrorist attacks have been reported from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Independence Day. Khalistani supporters may hoist Khalistani flags on August 15 at other places, including historic buildings in Delhi and Punjab. This has resulted in increased security in the capital. The ther-ther search campaign has been intensified.
The intelligence community has been alerted to the possibility of Khalistani being disrupted. Delhi Police has beefed up security in Delhi. Senior Delhi Police officials are briefing the officers below them about Khalistani's input during the briefing.
A senior official said that according to information provided by the intelligence department on Friday morning, Khalistanis could provoke farmers and stage violent protests anywhere. These people can still make a fuss after the Red Fort event on August 15 or hoist their flags at any place. With the completion of the program at the Red Fort, the security situation in Delhi is sluggish.
