Grand Mother Neuron has a wonderful combination of vision and memory

New York: The brain is made up of hundreds of cells, but it would be surprising to know that one cell is called the Grand Mother Neuron, by which the brain recognizes a familiar face. According to research on the monkey's brain, a small part of the brain that only works to identify acquaintances.

In the new study, researchers Winrich and Sophia performed functional magnetic resonance imaging of the monkey's brain. As soon as you come across a slightly familiar face, these cells become three times more active.

The human brain is also divided into different parts, one of which is the work of recognizing faces. This part has special types of neurons that seem to be activated by looking at familiar faces, celebrities and landmarks. Although in the study so far these cells were considered a complex hypothesis but they really are. The Grand Mother is a neuron cell.

Winrich Freewald, a professor of neuroscience and behavior at The Rollfeller University in New York City, confirmed that the human brain has such special neurons. Grandma's neurons have a strange combination of vision and memory. The mind immediately remembers what it once saw. There is no doubt in identifying the person or place you have visited frequently. The researcher said that the temporal pole which is in the lower part of the brain about which very little is known. A study of these granular neuron cells has been published in the journal Science.
