Encounter in Agra: Two kg of gold recovered in Manappuram gold raid case

Police have nabbed one more accused in a multi-crore robbery at a branch of Manappuram Gold Loan Company in Agra. Police have nabbed one more accused after an encounter in the area under Sikandra area police station on Monday morning. The scoundrel, on whom a reward of Rs 40,000 was announced, was shot in the leg and admitted to hospital.

Two kilograms of gold jewelery worth Rs 40,000 and a bike were seized from the accused Avinash Mishra alias Renu Pandit, who was caught in the encounter. Narendra alias Lala of the same gang has not been found yet.

On July 17, armed thugs raided a branch of the Manappuram Gold Loan Company in Kamalanagar, Agra and looted more than 16 kilograms of gold. Within hours of the incident, police had killed the rogue Manish Pandey and Nirdosh Kumar, both residents of Firozabad, in an encounter.

Six accused have been arrested so far in the robbery case. The gang has made such a surrender to the Sagarit police station named Prabhat Sharma. While its Sagarit historian Narendra alias Lalo is absconding. A prize of one lakh rupees has been announced for it.
