Going to Afghanistan in such a terrible situation? : Surprised High Court rejects demand

New Delhi: Two women ITBP women constables have demanded in the Delhi High Court that they be deployed to protect civilians among Taliban militants in Afghanistan. Following which the court expressed surprise and rejected the demand.

The Delhi High Court said the entire matter belonged to the ITBP's administrative department. It can deploy troops wherever it feels right. The court also expressed surprise at the demand for deployment in Afghanistan, which is currently in dire straits.

The two women constables told the High Court that they were posted at the Indian Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 2020. Whose term was two years. However, he was recalled to India in June last year.

We are entitled to protection for two years as we have also received training. The High Court later said that the ITBP could deploy its personnel wherever needed. I am surprised to know that there is a terrible situation in Afghanistan at present and women want to go there. The High Court had rejected the demand.
