Corona's pace slowed, but the number of cases fluctuated


New Delhi: The severity of the second wave of corona epidemics has now slowed down, along with the rate of spread of corona. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person. Corona infection cases in India have dropped by seven per cent and deaths by six per cent in the past week.

According to a website, 2,55,588 cases of corona were reported in India last week, down seven per cent from 2,74,220 in the previous week. Similarly, 3,335 crore victims died in India in the last seven days, down from 3,531 in the previous week.

Worldwide, corona infections have dropped by two percent and deaths by 0.7 percent. A total of 43,52,439 cases of corona were reported worldwide, compared to 44,48,997 in the previous week. Around the world, 66,241 Koro victims have died in the last seven days, compared to 66,739 in the previous week.

A total of 32,327 new cases of corona infection were reported in India on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to over 32 million. While the number of people free from corona infection has come down to three lakh 81 thousand. This is the lowest number in the last 150 days or so.

The death toll has risen to 4,31,000 from 417 deaths in the previous day. The country now has 1.18 per cent active cases, the lowest since March. The positivity rate is 2.79 percent. Thus the positivity rate has been below three per cent for the last 21 days. While the weekly positivity rate is 2.01 per cent.
