Announcement of Kisan Mahasabha to make the peasant movement against agricultural law nationwide

New Delhi: On the first day of a two-day convention of farmers from across the country at the nearby Shinghu border here today, farmers' leaders roared to make their ongoing agitation against the three agricultural laws nationwide.

Rakesh Tikait, leader of the National Farmers' Union, inaugurated the two-day farmers' convention convened at a time when the farmers' movement to oppose agricultural laws on different borders of Delhi has come to an end.

It is unfortunate to say that after nine months, the central government is not ready for negotiations. However, this attitude of the government will not dampen our spirits in the slightest. "In this two-day convention, we will review what we have gained and what we have lost in the last nine months," Tikait told reporters.

The convention will be attended by representatives of farmers' and agricultural workers' unions and organizations from 22 states, as many as 18 workers' unions, 9 women's unions and representatives of 17 student organizations.

According to a joint statement issued by Samyukta Kisan Morcha, three sessions were held on the first day of the convention, the first on Trim Agriculture Act, the second on issues of workers in industries and the third on issues of laborers and workers in agriculture. Was questionable.

In these three sessions the spokespersons put a special bar on making the peasant movement nationwide. The leaders also called for the inclusion of farmers, industrial workers, agricultural laborers, tribals and ordinary citizens across the country in the agitation.

Ashish Mittal, convener of the organizing committee of the convention, presented to the farmers leaders the delegates present at the convention an outline of the future of the movement and a whole draft containing the questions and demands of the workers of all sectors.
