US action on Xinjiang a threat to global trade: China

Beijing, Dt

Rejecting US allegations that workers in Xinjiang were being persecuted, the Chinese government accused Washington of harming global trade. The U.S. Senate passed a bill Wednesday banning all products made in China's Xinjiang province. The United States has taken action against the atrocities and human rights abuses against Uighur Muslims here. Gao Feng, a spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce, said on Thursday that the alleged human rights violations and bonded labor disputes in Xinjiang were far from reality. Without directly referring to US action, he said the US approach poses a threat to the security and stability of the global industrial chain and supply chain. China categorically denies the US allegations.
